Atiku Declares ADC Set to Take Over Power from Tinubu in 2027, Claims Other Parties Are Jittery

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has confidently announced that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) opposition coalition is primed to wrest power from President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections. Atiku asserted that within just weeks of the ADC’s formal launch and coalition adoption, the party has already unsettled competing political groups across the country.

Speaking over the weekend at the inauguration of the Ekiti State ADC Executive Council in Ado Ekiti where he was represented by Professor Bayode Fakunle Atiku stressed that the rapid rise of the ADC demonstrates a readiness for national change and broad appeal to Nigerians. “ADC was launched just about three weeks ago and within two weeks, it has become the most dominant party in the country and all other parties are already jittery,” he declared.

Atiku emphasized that the ADC’s mission is to counteract the threat of Nigeria “becoming a one-party state” and to welcome all Nigerians seeking credible alternatives to the current administration. He predicted that, with broad support, the ADC will “change the political landscape of this country” and is poised to “take over the leadership of this country come 2027.”

The coalition, which boasts several notable political figures among its members, has vowed to unseat President Tinubu and end APC dominance. While Atiku has not formally announced his candidacy, ongoing speculation suggests he may seek the party’s presidential ticket.

The statement underscores rising political tensions as the 2027 election cycle draws closer, with the ADC emerging as a significant force challenging the status quo.
