Davido has emerged as the dominant Nigerian artist on Spotify’s recently released list of the top 30 most streamed Nigerian songs globally in the first half of 2025. The streaming giant unveiled its Global Impact List for January to June 2025, highlighting the songs from Nigeria that gained the most international traction.
Leading the pack is Rema’s hit single "Baby (Is It a Crime)," which has become the most streamed Nigerian song worldwide during this period. However, Davido stands out with nine songs from his latest album 5ive featured on the list, making him the Nigerian artist with the most entries and demonstrating his massive global appeal.
Burna Boy also secured a strong presence with five tracks, including "Tatata" featuring Travis Scott, from his eighth studio album No Sign of Weakness. Rising stars such as Shallipopi and Chella also made significant marks with popular songs like "Laho" and "My Darling."
Gospel singer Lawrence Oyor made history as the only gospel artist on the list with his track “Favour,” showcasing the diversity of Nigerian music reaching global listeners. Other notable artists like Ayra Starr, Teni, Omah Lay, Adekunle Gold, and Minz were also recognized for their contributions to this list.
According to Spotify’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa, Phiona Okumu, the rankings demonstrate the growing international influence of Nigerian music and the incredible range of talent coming from the country. This latest data reaffirms Nigeria’s dominant role in shaping the global music scene in 2025.
