Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose Declares Himself Record Holder of Election Results in Ekiti, Affirms He Will Not Join APC

On Monday, July 28, 2025, Ayodele Fayose described himself as the record holder of election results in Ekiti State, emphasizing his unmatched electoral victories. Speaking at an APC governorship campaign rally in Ado Ekiti, Fayose claimed to have won in all 16 local government areas and over 58 wards during his electoral contests in the state.

Despite endorsing Bola Tinubu and Governor Abayomi Oyebanji for a second term, he made it clear that he would never join the All Progressives Congress (APC) party.

Fayose urged Ekiti electorates to support Oyebanji in the upcoming governorship election while highlighting his personal achievements at the polls and long-standing political influence in the state. He also acknowledged the presence of former Governor Segun Oni at the rally as an important unifying factor for Ekiti politics.

His declaration reinforces his status as a prominent political figure with a strong grassroots base in Ekiti but also signals his continued loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rather than switching allegiance to the APC.
