Nelly Mbonu, a former contestant on Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 9, has publicly stated that the Mbadiwe Twins, Ozee and Ocee, did not deserve to be part of the reality show. She alleged that the respect and attention the Mbadiwe Twins received from other housemates were largely because of their influential surname rather than their contributions or personalities. Nelly expressed that she was unimpressed by their background and did not care for the status their name brought them.
Nelly went further to claim that the twins should have been evicted in the first week of the show, feeling that they were not suited for BBNaija Season 9 specifically. Though she clarified that she had no personal grudge against them, she stated their presence annoyed her and that they were not performing to her expectations.
