Ogun State to Begin Disbursement of N500 Million Grants to Artisans and Small-Scale Businesses

The Ogun State Ministry of Community Development and Cooperatives has commenced the registration process for disbursing N500 million worth of business and industrial grants targeted at artisans and small-scale business owners in the state. This was disclosed by the Ministry’s Commissioner, Mr. Ademola Balogun, during a mid-year budget performance review before the Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Community Development and Cooperatives in Abeokuta.

Balogun assured that the disbursement process would be transparent and inclusive, accommodating all eligible categories of beneficiaries. The initiative aims to strengthen the grassroots economy by boosting investments and supporting cooperative efforts among local artisans and entrepreneurs.

Additionally, the Ministry of Sports Development reported progress including renovation of sporting facilities like MKO Abiola Sports Arena and Alake Sports Complex, alongside upgrades such as Olympic-standard swimming pools and tennis courts, contributing to community and youth development.

This grant disbursement forms part of the Ogun State Government's commitment to economic empowerment and sustainable development at the grassroots level, supporting small businesses and artisans to enhance productivity and socio-economic growth.
