PDP's Bala Mohammed Vows to Give APC a Big Fight in 2027 Elections

Bauchi State Governor and Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Bala Mohammed, has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is preparing to strongly challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections. He made this statement during the opening session of the 101st National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the PDP in Abuja.

Governor Bala Mohammed emphasized the resilience and unity within the PDP, underscoring the party's commitment to creating a platform for Nigerians. He assured that PDP governors are working closely to ensure the party remains intact and ready for a "big fight" against the APC come 2027.

Supporting this, Ahmed Makarfi, Secretary of the PDP Board of Trustees, highlighted the critical need for the party to convene an elective national convention to elect new national officers, which he believes will determine the party’s future political standing. Makarfi expressed optimism that a new leadership would encourage defections back to the PDP from members who had left.

Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro also reaffirmed the resolve of PDP senators to revitalize and strengthen the party, dismissing defections as political survival tactics.

Recent political developments in Bauchi highlight an energized opposition under PDP leadership, with Governor Bala Mohammed actively working to retain PDP influence and prepare for the upcoming electoral contest against APC dominance.
