The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) is scheduled to officially unveil the revised timetable and election guidelines for the 2025 Local Government Elections on Monday, July 28, 2025. The event will take place at the RSIEC Headquarters in Port Harcourt starting at 2:00 PM.
This unveiling will gather key stakeholders, including leaders of registered political parties, traditional rulers, security agencies, religious groups, media representatives, civil society organizations, and the electorate. The fresh local government elections in Rivers State were planned following the nullification of previous polls by the Supreme Court, with the election date set for Saturday, August 9, 2025.
