A gang of kidnappers in Nasarawa State were forced to abandon a ransom payment and a cache of weapons after their escape vehicle crashed on Monday morning. The incident took place at Angwan Mayo, along the Kokona axis.
The kidnappers were traveling in a Peugeot 406 loaded with firearms and ransom money when the vehicle veered off the road and crashed. Following the crash, the suspects fled the scene on foot, leaving the ransom and their weapons behind.
Troops of the Nigerian Army quickly secured the vehicle and recovered the abandoned items. Security forces have since launched a manhunt to apprehend the kidnappers.
This occurrence underscores the ongoing challenges in combating kidnapping and criminal activities in the region.
