A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has issued a stern warning to politicians who are reportedly hiding within opposition parties with the intent of blackmailing President Bola Tinubu. He threatened that such individuals will be arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Oyintiloye, a former lawmaker and notable APC figure, cautioned that attempts to use the EFCC investigations as political tools to undermine President Tinubu’s administration would not be tolerated. He appealed to Nigerians to reject politicization of anti-corruption efforts, emphasizing that the EFCC's mandate is to combat corruption, not to serve as a weapon for political blackmail.
His warning signals a sharp stance by the ruling party against politicians who may be exploiting opposition platforms to launch personal or political attacks against the President and the administration. This statement comes in a tense political climate with heightened scrutiny of public officials and ongoing investigations into corruption.
Oyintiloye also appealed for calm and urged all parties to engage in constructive political dialogue instead of resorting to tactics aimed at destabilizing governance. The chieftain’s remarks reinforce the APC’s commitment to rooting out corruption while protecting the integrity of democratic institutions.
