Former Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, has issued a firm directive to All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu and his running mate Senator Uche Ekwunife to immediately stop using his name and photographs in their campaign materials without his permission.
Ngige’s Special Assistant on Media Affairs, Hyggy Obialo, clarified that Ngige neither authorized nor approved the circulation of campaign posters featuring him alongside Ukachukwu and Ekwunife. Ngige emphasized that he is currently on a political sabbatical after 25 years of active service and is disengaged from partisan politics.
He described the unauthorized use of his image as misleading and disrespectful, warning that any further misuse may prompt legal action against the candidates and their campaign team. This announcement affirms Ngige’s intention to distance himself from the ongoing Anambra State governorship race and maintain his political hiatus for the time being.
