Senator Orji Uzor Kalu Addresses Rumors on President Bola Tinubu’s Health and Upcoming Trip

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North, has stated that President Bola Tinubu is set to travel to Japan for an official state visit, with a stopover in Brazil, before returning to Nigeria to attend the United Nations meeting in September 2025. Kalu made this announcement in a video posted on his Facebook page, addressing widespread rumors about the president’s ill health.

Responding to the speculation spurred by President Tinubu's notable absence from key public events, Kalu urged Nigerians and politicians to stop focusing on unverified rumors about the president’s health. Although he did not explicitly confirm that Tinubu is in perfect health, Kalu remarked, “Even if he is not in good health, somebody can be sick and he will get better to do his travels.” He emphasized the importance of focusing on the administration’s achievements and progress.

Earlier official statements from the presidency had dismissed claims that Tinubu is critically ill, clarifying that he remains in good health and is working from home. Kalu also confirmed having recently spoken directly with the president, who remains active in preparing for his diplomatic engagements.

This reassures the public amid ongoing concerns about Tinubu’s health, asserting that preparations continue for the president’s international diplomatic duties.
