Super Falcons Defender Oluwatosin Demehin Pens Contract Extension with Galatasaray

Nigerian international and Super Falcons defender Oluwatosin Demehin has extended her stay with Turkish Women’s football giants Galatasaray, securing a contract extension ahead of the 2025/2026 season.

Demehin initially joined the Istanbul club on a free transfer in September 2024, signing a one-year deal. Her performances quickly endeared her to Galatasaray, as she featured prominently, making 26 appearances across all competitions and scoring once during the debut season. She was a key figure in Galatasaray’s defence in both domestic matches and their maiden campaign in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

The 23-year-old centre-back also played a vital part in Nigeria’s triumph at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where the Super Falcons clinched their record-extending 10th continental title. Demehin’s consistent displays at the international level have further cemented her reputation as one of Africa’s most promising defenders.

Galatasaray’s decision to secure her services for another season underscores their ambition to build a competitive team capable of challenging for titles domestically and in Europe.

Demehin’s rise began at Sunshine Queens and Rivers Angels before her move to Europe. Her steady progress through the ranks and impressive performances have made her a key asset for club and country, and her contract extension provides a stable platform for further development.

With the new deal in place, Demehin is set to continue representing Galatasaray with the same determination and professionalism, while also preparing to lead the Super Falcons in upcoming international competitions.
