President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the reinstatement of Mr. Salihu Abdullahi Dembos as the Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), reversing recent management changes at the agency. The directive was announced on Tuesday via a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
Dembos, who was initially appointed by President Tinubu in October 2023, had briefly vacated the position following new appointments. However, Tinubu’s latest directive nullifies the appointment of a new director-general along with other key positions, effectively restoring Dembos to complete his original three-year term.
Also recalled is Mr. Ayo Adewuyi, Executive Director of News, whose tenure, starting in 2024, will now run uninterrupted until 2027. The recall of these top executives signals a reversal of the earlier shake-up in NTA’s leadership, aiming to stabilize the country's largest television network.
