Nigerian superstar Tiwa Savage has opened up about the trauma she endured following the leak of her intimate sex tape, firmly denying claims that she orchestrated the leak to gain sympathy.
In a candid interview with British media personality Zeze Mills, Tiwa revealed that the tape was leaked at a very difficult time in her life while she was grieving the death of her father. She described this period as the darkest moment in her career and shared that she coped by consciously deciding not to dwell on the incident.
Tiwa explained that the tape, which she prefers not to call a sex tape but an intimate video with the person she was dating, was accidentally posted on Snapchat by her partner and quickly deleted. However, before it was deleted, someone downloaded the video and eventually tried to use it to blackmail her.
She expressed frustration over the blackmail attempt but reiterated her refusal to allow anyone to extort her, stating she could have leaked the tape herself if that were her intent. Tiwa emphasized the naturalness of the act and rejected the stigma associated with the video.
Reflecting on her life, Tiwa also discussed her perception of love, revealing that she has never experienced true love except for the love she has for her son and expressed uncertainty about finding romantic love again.
