Breaking: EFCC Summons Ex-AGF Abubakar Malami for Questioning Today

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) summoned former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) Abubakar Malami for an interview on Friday, November 28, 2025, at its headquarters in Jabi, Abuja.

A letter dated November 24, signed by Sunday Atiba Ofen-Imu on behalf of EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede, cited Section 38(1) and (2) of the EFCC Establishment Act 2024, requesting Malami's presence through the Head of Special Duty Committee-3 to provide information on an ongoing investigation. The agency described the need for clarification as imperative but did not disclose specifics.

Malami confirmed the summons on his Facebook page, pledging full cooperation as a law-abiding citizen committed to transparency and accountability in public service. He promised to update the public on developments, reaffirming principles of honesty and integrity from his tenure under former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Malami, who recently declared intent to contest the Kebbi State governorship, faces this amid EFCC's intensified probes into high-profile figures. The agency has not commented further on the case details at this stage.
