Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, a prominent cleric based in Plateau State, has warned heavenly repercussions on those responsible for the recent closure of his Facebook and Instagram accounts. Dachomo's social media pages were deleted after he posted content alleging "Christian genocide" in Nigeria, which was reportedly deemed by Facebook to "jeopardise national security" a claim he vehemently rejected.
A supporter disclosed that Dachomo was personally informed about the takedown and noted that other accounts expressing similar views remained active. The cleric has been an outspoken voice on the mass killings targeting Christian communities in Plateau, Benue, Kaduna, and Taraba states, and he has presided over numerous mass burial ceremonies for victims purportedly of such violence.
Dachomo's account suspension has sparked debates about online censorship, religious freedom, and government relations with social media platforms in Nigeria. His supporters argue that silencing his voice widens distrust between communities and the government, while human rights groups continue to call for transparent investigations into the reported attacks.
No official government response has been issued regarding the Facebook and Instagram account deletions.
