Civil Society Demands UNN Vice Chancellor's Suspension Over Alleged Bias in Uche Nnaji Certificate Scandal

The Joint Civil Society Front (JCSF) in Enugu State demanded the immediate suspension of University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) Vice Chancellor Prof. Simon Uchenna Ortuanya amid allegations of tampering with former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology Chief Uche Nnaji's academic records.

JCSF accused Ortuanya of bypassing the registrar to release altered records in response to a Premium Times FOI request, claiming Nnaji did not graduate despite UNN's 2023 confirmation, raising fears of political bias and evidence manipulation during the ongoing Education Ministry probe ordered by Minister Dr. Tunji Alausa.

The group warned of mass protests across Nsukka and Enugu campuses if suspension does not occur, stressing it ensures unfettered investigation into vanished records and institutional integrity.
