Federal University Kashere Vice-Chancellor Prof. Umar Pate urged Muslims to harness new media and AI for propagating Islamic values globally, warning that positive use leads to paradise while negative applications invite hellfire.
Speaking Sunday at the Adamawa Muslim Council executives' inauguration in Yola, Pate highlighted technology's double-edged sword: 92 million jobs vanishing in five years from AI and robots, offset by 120 million new opportunities, with internet enabling instant worldwide connections.
He cautioned against hate speech, fake news, and misinformation on digital platforms, advocating skills for Da'wah, coordination, and announcements, as Governor Ahmadu Fintiri and Lamido Barkindo Mustapha charged leaders on justice, unity, and peaceful coexistence.
