Federal Government Bans SS3 Admissions, Transfers Nationwide to Curb Exam Malpractice

The Federal Ministry of Education has imposed a nationwide ban on admitting or transferring students into Senior Secondary School Three (SS3) across all public and private secondary schools, effective from the 2026/27 academic session.

Spokesperson Folasade Boriowo announced the policy Sunday, citing rising examination malpractice including special centres that erode Nigeria's education credibility, restricting entries strictly to SS1 and SS2 to eliminate last-minute exam advantage shifts.

The directive mandates full compliance from school proprietors and principals, with violators facing sanctions under existing regulations, aiming to ensure academic monitoring, teaching continuity, and restored exam integrity nationwide.
