Adeyanju Praises Nigeria's Benin Coup Bust, Demands Same Fury on Home Terrorists

Activist Deji Adeyanju applauded President Bola Tinubu's swift military intervention thwarting the December 7, 2025, Benin Republic coup attempt, where Nigerian Air Force jets from Lagos seized airspace and ground troops joined by ECOWAS dislodged Lt. Col. Pascal Tigri's rebels from state TV and Togbin camp after Talon's urgent pleas. Responding to Nigeria's first foreign deployment since Gambia 2017, Adeyanju hailed it as rejecting Sahel juntas, crediting shared borders and ECOWAS protocols for restoring Talon's rule within hours, with 14 arrests including 12 soldiers. He urged channeling that "decisive might" against Nigeria's bandits, ISWAP, and insurgents ravaging the North.

Tinubu ordered jets to neutralize plotters at TV station and base, expelling mutineers as loyalists regained control; CDS Gen. Olufemi Oluyede confirmed execution under Benin command. Adeyanju framed the success killing several putschists as proof Nigeria defends democracy abroad, now prioritizing homeland threats. Benin Interior Minister Alassane Seidou credited joint forces; Tigri remains fugitive.

The call echoes post-coup buzz, with Tinubu praising troops for "defending constitutional order" amid regional stability push. No administration reply yet.
