Management dismissed allegations of stalled convocations, recruitment halts, and VC selection manipulations by Governing Council Chairman Comrade Fidelis Edeh blamed on grudge over Iwe's refusal to rig results as baseless propaganda aimed at destabilizing the institution. The university affirmed smooth operations, with Senate-approved convocation proceeding December 13, 2025, interviews for new staff underway per Education Minister's sanction, and transparent VC process deadline-honored.
Edeh allegedly targets Iwe loyalists like Dr. Philips Nto blocking promotions, querying Abia indigenes advocating fair VC pick and unilaterally canceled events, prompting Concerned Parents group's plea to President Tinubu and Minister Dr. Alausa for probe.
