Makinde Clears LAUTECH Teaching Hospital Arrears, Approves 13th-Month Bonus for Oyo Workers

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde approved payment of outstanding salaries and minimum wage arrears for Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital staff in Ogbomoso, alongside the 13th-month salary bonus for all state workers marking the seventh consecutive year since 2019. Announcing during the Governing Board inauguration at Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, on December 8, 2025, Makinde confirmed signing the December salary file incorporating the dues, addressing staff concerns after due process delays.

Makinde tasked the board chaired by Professor Banji Oyelaran-Oyeyinka with revamping the Oyo Annex within 12 months, promising support to operationalize the facility and resolve medical lecturers' strike. He praised the merit-based selections, including Prof. Ayodeji Omole (LAUTECH Pro-Chancellor), and committed to deeper dives into ongoing issues. Oyelaran-Oyeyinka assured transparency, a strategic plan for 21st-century standards, and legacy delivery.

The gesture fulfills September promises amid worker agitations, boosting morale in health and education sectors. Attendees included labour leaders and council heads.
