Meta Suspends Eedris Abdulkareem's Facebook and Instagram Pages Over Trump Protest Song

Nigerian rapper and activist Eedris Abdulkareem announced that Meta suspended his Facebook and Instagram accounts shortly after releasing his new track "Open Letter to Donald Trump" on November 30, 2025. The protest song criticizes corruption, insecurity, and misgovernance in Nigeria, framing it as an appeal to U.S. President Donald Trump while targeting the political elite.

Abdulkareem stated he could no longer access either platform, with checks confirming the pages were inaccessible, though some reports noted restoration by December 1. Meta has not publicly explained the action or its duration, amid Abdulkareem's history of regulatory clashes, including a 2025 NBC ban on his song "Tell Your Papa."

The incident has fueled debates on platform moderation of political content and protest music in Nigeria.
