Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has expressed strong confidence in his team's chances of winning the Champions League trophy this season, following their impressive quarter-final victory over Real Madrid.
Saka spoke optimistically after leading Arsenal to a 2-1 win against Real Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday. The England international, who converted one of his opportunities despite missing a penalty during the game, opened the scoring for the visitors in the second half.
Gabriel Martinelli added another goal for the Premier League side, securing a 2-1 victory on the night and a commanding 5-1 aggregate win, following Arsenal’s 3-0 triumph in the first leg at the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta's squad has now advanced to the Champions League semi-finals, where they are set to face Paris Saint-Germain later this month.
“We can beat the best teams in Europe at home and away, you can see that,” Saka said in a post-match interview. “I like to believe that we can WIN the Champions League. I think we can.”
Saka's confident assertion reflects Arsenal's strong form and belief in their ability to compete at the highest level of European football. As they prepare for their semi-final showdown with PSG, Arsenal fans have reason to be optimistic about their team's chances of lifting the Champions League trophy.
