Tinubu's Appointments Adhere to Federal Character Principle, Says SGF

Abuja, Nigeria – Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), has dismissed allegations of unbalanced federal appointments under President Bola Tinubu's administration. Akume affirmed the government's dedication to fairness, equity, and national unity, emphasizing that all appointments strictly adhere to the Federal Character Principle as outlined in the Constitution.

This statement follows accusations of legal violations in appointments made by President Tinubu, which were raised by a senator from the Northeast geo-political zone, Ali Ndume.

Sunday Dare, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, released a list detailing appointments across the six geo-political zones in response to these concerns.

Akume urged the public to disregard what he termed unfounded speculations, directing inquiries about appointments to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation for accurate information. He reiterated the administration's commitment to a united and equitable Nigeria, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
