PDP Already Dead, We’ll Receive You Soon - Ganduje Fires Back at Lamido

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has dismissed claims that he plans to defect to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), reaffirming his unwavering loyalty to the ruling party.

Ganduje’s response came after former Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, predicted the imminent disintegration of the APC and suggested that defectors like Ganduje would return to the PDP fold. In a statement issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, Ganduje described Lamido’s remarks as baseless and illogical.

“There is no reason for me to leave the APC for what is clearly a failing opposition,” Ganduje asserted, adding that the PDP is on the brink of extinction due to ongoing internal conflicts.

Highlighting the APC’s growing strength under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, Ganduje noted that the party continues to attract prominent politicians nationwide. “With such overwhelming national support, the APC remains focused on consolidating its achievements and preparing for a resounding victory in the 2027 general election,” he said.

Ganduje further declared, “In fact, we will soon receive Sule Lamido because very soon he won’t have where to go; the PDP is dead.”

Reaffirming his pride in leading the largest political party in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa, Ganduje emphasized his commitment to deepening internal party democracy and promoting sustainable governance.

He advised Lamido to concentrate on resolving the PDP’s internal crises rather than engaging in unfounded speculation, assuring Nigerians that under his stewardship, the APC remains united, focused, and dedicated to delivering on its mandate.
