Former Man United Midfielder Paul Pogba Offered Two-Year Deal by AS Monaco

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has been offered a two-year contract by French Ligue 1 club AS Monaco as he looks to revive his career following an 18-month doping ban. The 32-year-old World Cup winner has been a free agent since his contract with Juventus was terminated by mutual agreement in late 2024, after testing positive for elevated testosterone levels in 2023.

Monaco, who finished third in Ligue 1 last season and secured Champions League qualification, are in advanced talks with Pogba’s representatives. The club views Pogba as a major superstar and potential midfield leader, and negotiations over the sporting project and contract terms are ongoing. Pogba is reportedly considering the offer alongside interest from other clubs, including a Spanish side.

Pogba’s ban was initially four years but was reduced to 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, allowing him to resume playing this summer. A return to Ligue 1 would mark Pogba’s first professional stint in French football since leaving Le Havre’s youth academy for Manchester United in 2009.

In addition to Pogba, Monaco is also close to signing Spanish winger Ansu Fati from Barcelona, aiming to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
