Speaking on Saturday at his palace in Benin City during a meeting with governors elected on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform, the monarch praised President Tinubu for his commendable efforts to unite the nation despite facing criticism.

Oba Ewuare II emphasized that every leader, including those in developed countries like the United States, faces opposition but must persevere in their duties. He urged the governors to project peace and unity throughout Nigeria, transcending all divisions. The monarch also asked the governors to continue supporting Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, commending him for respecting and recognizing traditional institutions in the state.

Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma assured the Oba that Governor Okpebholo would fulfill his campaign promises, including poverty reduction and infrastructure development. The meeting included APC senators and two members of President Tinubu’s cabinet.

Oba Ewuare’s call highlights the importance of collaborative leadership in strengthening Nigeria’s unity and stability amid diverse political and social challenges.
