Victor Osimhen Says Fame is Boring, Reveals Desire for Normalcy Amid Stardom

Super Eagles and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has candidly expressed his view on fame, describing it as "boring" due to the restrictions it imposes on his everyday life. Speaking in an interview with Instablog TV, Osimhen explained that fame limits his freedom to enjoy simple pleasures and outings as he once did before achieving global stardom.

Osimhen revealed that he often escapes to the Olusosun area of Lagos, where he grew up, as a way to reconnect with his roots and experience a sense of normalcy away from the spotlight. "I like to stay around these people [Olusosun residents]. I like to stay close to them because I feel like fame is boring. Sometimes, you want to go outside, you cannot do a lot of things," he shared.

He also described a poignant moment during his first outing with his daughter when family visited him in Italy. Osimhen recounted, "I couldn’t do much with my daughter on our first outing. I had to give her to my sister and then I was just taking pictures and making videos. Just like I said, fame is boring."

This honest reflection reveals the personal challenges that come with worldwide recognition, highlighting the contrast between public adulation and private restrictions for one of Nigerian football’s brightest stars.
