WAFCON: Super Falcons Arrive Abuja, Set for Trophy Parade

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have arrived in Abuja following their historic victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) held in Morocco. The team, officials, and contingent landed at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Monday afternoon.

To celebrate their remarkable achievement of winning a record-extending 10th WAFCON title after a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over the host nation Morocco, the Super Falcons will hold a grand trophy parade around key districts in the Federal Capital Territory. The parade route is planned to pass through Airport Road, Berger Junction, Maitama, and Wuse Market.

Following the parade, the team is scheduled to be hosted by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, where they will be officially congratulated for their outstanding triumph and as national sporting heroes.

This homecoming celebration underscores the Super Falcons' continued dominance in African women's football and their importance as a symbol of national pride and sporting excellence in Nigeria.
