Death Toll from Adamawa Flood Hits 29, Deputy Governor Kaletapwa Farauta Confirms

The death toll from the recent flood that struck Adamawa State's capital, Yola, around July 27, 2025, has risen to 29, according to Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta. She provided this update on August 5, 2025, during a relief distribution event where First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu offered support to affected residents.

The floods severely affected communities in Yola South Local Government Area and are considered among the worst floods recorded in the city in recent years. The Deputy Governor noted that the state government has made significant efforts to assist victims and expressed gratitude toward Oluremi Tinubu for her intervention.

This flood incident caused widespread displacement and substantial damage, with ongoing assessments and support efforts continuing in the region. Relief items and cash donations were symbolically distributed to help the victims in recovery.
