Popular Nigerian skit maker and content creator Raji Samad Adetola, known widely as Mr Sanku Comedy, has tragically passed away following a fatal car accident on the Oyo-Ogbomoso road in Ibadan. The accident occurred in the early hours of Monday, September 1, 2025, when the vehicle he was in crashed into a ditch.
Sanku and a friend were rushed to the hospital following the collision but were pronounced dead a few hours later. Fans and fellow entertainers quickly took to social media, expressing shock and grief over the sudden loss of the talented comedian who rose to prominence with his unique storytelling and engaging comedy style since beginning his content creation journey in 2021.
Nollywood actress Funmi Awelewa confirmed Sanku’s death in a heartfelt Instagram post, sharing how she had sent someone to Bowen Hospital to check on him after hearing about the accident. Despite their prayers and hopes for his recovery, the news of his passing shook the Nigerian comedy scene deeply.
