Atiku Vows Opposition Coalition Will Challenge Tinubu’s "Excesses" and "Rescue Nigeria"

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has announced the formation of a strong and united opposition coalition aimed at challenging what he describes as the "excesses" of President Bola Tinubu's administration. In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Atiku asserted that the coalition is committed to restoring accountability in governance and returning power to the people.

Atiku emphasized that the coalition will safeguard the right of every Nigerian to freely elect their leaders and pledged to continue fighting for economic justice, political freedom, and national progress. He declared, "We are here to rescue Nigeria. And we will not stop until that goal is achieved."

Atiku is spearheading the coalition along with key figures such as Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party; Nasir El-Rufai, the former Governor of Kaduna State; and Rotimi Amaechi, the former Governor of Rivers State.

Former Governor El-Rufai stated that the coalition is determined to ensure that Tinubu does not win re-election in 2027, stating their intent to return him to Lagos after the next election cycle.
