Former Minister Audu Ogbeh, Ex-Buhari's Minister of Agriculture, Dies at 78

Former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the age of 78. The Ogbeh family announced his death in a statement, describing him as a man who left behind a legacy of integrity, service, and dedication to Nigeria and his community.

Audu Ogbeh was also a former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from 2001 to 2005. He served as Agriculture Minister under late President Muhammadu Buhari from 2015 to 2019 and was previously Minister of Communications during the Second Republic (1982–1983). Before that, he was deputy speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly.

The family asked for privacy as they mourn the loss of their patriarch and promised that funeral arrangements would be announced in due course. His passing has been widely reported as a significant loss to Nigerian politics and public service.
