Tinubu’s Youth Empowerment Policies Renew Nigerian Youths’ Hope, Says Former EFCC Boss Magu

Former EFCC Acting Chairman Ibrahim Magu has commended President Bola Tinubu for policies that are rekindling hope and belief among Nigerian youths. Speaking at the National Industrial Manpower Summit 2025 held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Magu highlighted Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda as a beacon of youth empowerment, skills development, and institutional strengthening critical for the country's future.

Magu praised the administration’s leadership for inspiring bold reforms and a renewed commitment to national progress, noting that Nigerian youths are increasingly confident about their prospects within the country. He cited examples of young Nigerians thriving in diverse sectors: building tech startups in Yaba, running farms in Nasarawa, growing fashion businesses in Aba, and developing mobile applications in Kaduna.

“The youths are not weak, lazy, or waiting to be rescued; they are ready to lead,” Magu declared.

While commending Tinubu’s efforts in galvanizing positive change among the youth, Magu warned that corruption remains the gravest threat to manpower development and national advancement. He expressed concern over practices like paying bribes for jobs, contractors abandoning training projects, and misuse of empowerment funds, which undermine the bridge between potential and productivity.

Magu urged the youth to reject corruption and embrace integrity, emphasizing that true leadership begins with character. He called for a collective effort to protect systems that ensure fair opportunities, including transparent recruitment processes, efficient education funding, whistleblower protection, and recognition of integrity in public and private sectors.

Summing up, Magu expressed strong belief in Nigeria’s youth and its future under Tinubu’s reforms. “I believe the future is not far it is here, it is now, and it is ours to shape,” he said.
